Kormotech Donates 2,000 Kilograms of Pet Food to LKP “Lev”

Kormotech, the largest Ukrainian producer of cat and dog food, has renewed its partnership with the Lviv municipal enterprise “Lev” (LKP “Lev”). Since October last year, Kormotech has been meeting the organization’s food needs.

As part of this collaboration, Kormotech has donated over 2,000 kilograms of dry and wet pet food to feed the cats and dogs housed at LKP “Lev.”

"Supporting shelters is about much more than just providing food. It’s about contributing to a society where caring for the vulnerable becomes a norm, and responsibility for animals is a shared goal. We believe that, together with partners like LKP 'Lev,' we can change attitudes toward cats and dogs and give them a new chance for a happy life," said Iryna Lozova, Head of Social Projects at Kormotech.

Over its 20 years of operation, Kormotech has implemented more than 14 social initiatives, including rescuing animals affected by war. The company’s social mission is to change attitudes toward animals across Eastern Europe—not as property but as companions and family members.

"We are delighted to have resumed our partnership with Kormotech, allowing us to provide high-quality nutrition to our animals. Last year, we faced some challenges with this, and I believe our collaboration will deepen this year. Together, we aim to create a space that fosters a community of like-minded people while also building awareness of how vital animals are to human life and urban ecosystems," said Yuliana Savruk, Director of LKP “Lev.”

Yuliana says LKP “Lev” has 56 dogs and 16 cats. By policy, dogs can remain at the facility for up to 21 days; however, some animals stay for up to a year due to specific circumstances. This overcrowding makes it difficult for the center to continue its active sterilization efforts due to a lack of space.

In response, LKP “Lev” is working on projects to promote pet adoption, including hiring photographers, launching grooming services, involving a dog trainer, hosting tours, and actively developing its social media presence.
