Inclusion is the Key to Business Success
"For us, inclusivity means creating equal conditions for everyone: women with small children, pregnant women, older people, veterans, people with disabilities, and those who bring their beloved pets to work. We want to build a global company. It means changing the mindset. We work with different people and are ready to change together with them," said Rostyslav Vovk, CEO and co-owner of Kormotech, during the SUP DAY FORUM LVIV 2024.
Kormotech is a place where everyone has equal opportunities regardless of status, gender, disability, or the presence of pets. Incidentally, Kormotech is the first company in Ukraine to implement a pet-friendly office and actively promotes this initiative among other businesses.
What does it mean to be an inclusive business?
For example, one-third of our top managers are women, and the company pays for a nanny if a woman wants to return to work. Moreover, Kormotech is the first company in Ukraine to implement a pet-friendly office and actively promotes this initiative among other businesses. We are also among 18 companies in Lviv that have signed a Memorandum of Support for War Veterans. The memorandum is open, and your company can join it, too.
The indispensable components of an inclusive business are:
1. Equal working conditions for everyone.
2. Safety in learning — the ability to learn, ask questions, and not be afraid of making mistakes.
3. Contributor safety — the freedom to share ideas and innovations and influence the company's development.
4. The right to not be afraid to say "I disagree" to your manager, CEO, or business owner.
Why will inclusivity strengthen your business? Rostyslav Vovk is confident it will add "points" to the business. After all, it's about:
1. Breakthrough ideas and new talents. Diversity is the engine of innovation.
2. Enhancing brand reputation.
3. Improving productivity and efficiency.
4. Gender equality. When people see a professional, not a gender.
Moreover, inclusivity is part of ESG standards. By 2028, businesses must adhere to these standards to operate in the European market.
Kormotech is on the path to change, but we know that equal, responsible, and open conditions for everyone are the way to success.
