Animals in War premiered at the Odesa International Film Festival
On October 4, the national premiere of the film anthology Animals in War took place at the Odesa International Film Festival. It features seven short films about the war in Ukraine, told through animal stories.
Renowned Ukrainian directors created the project, and among the featured characters is two-time Oscar winner Sean Penn, who has supported Ukraine since the early days of the full-scale invasion. The film’s soundtrack includes a song by Imagine Dragons.
The author and producer of the idea is Oleg Kokhan. The soundtrack is by Imagine Dragons, and Sean Penn — a two-time Oscar-winning actor and co-producer — is one of the key characters, supporting Ukraine from day one.
These stories show the war from a different perspective — through the bond between people and animals, through trust and empathy.
U-Hearts (formerly Save Pets of Ukraine) is a partner of the film.
At the premiere, together with LKP Lev, we presented a new project — Companions. It’s a program that trains emotional support dogs to help veterans, children, and civilians regain peace and confidence.
Starting November 6, the film will be screened in cinemas across Ukraine.
Every viewer can be part of the change by joining the Companion Campaign to support the pilot launch of the program in Lviv.

Save Pets of Ukraine becomes U-Hearts
The Save Pets of Ukraine initiative has changed its name and will now operate under a single brand — U-Hearts (NGO “U-Hearts Ukraine”).
This step is a natural continuation of its growth. In Ukraine, the project was known as Save Pets of Ukraine, while abroad it operated as U-Hearts Foundation — a charity organization that mobilized international aid for Ukrainian animals.

“We didn’t create the B2B portal for the sake of technology. We created it for people. So that every client feels in control, has everything at their fingertips, and always knows what’s going on. It’s about convenience — and trust, built day by day through the details,” said Eduard Babenko, Strategic Business Unit Director, Ukraine, Moldova, Asia at Kormotech, during the FMCG Future Focus 2025 conference hosted by SoftServe Business Systems.

Activism is, above all, about speaking up for what matters. Businesses often become ambassadors of activism because they have additional platforms and communication channels that can amplify civic voices and draw attention to issues that need attention.
