Kormotech Welcomes Lithuania’s Minister of Economy and Innovation to Its Production Facility

On March 5, the Lithuanian Minister of Economy and Innovation, Edvinas Grikšas, and a delegation visited the Kormotech factory in Kėdainiai. Representatives of the Innovation Agency Lithuania team, the head and team of Invest Lithuania, as well as the Mayor of Kėdainiai, Valentinas Tamulis, and representatives of the Kėdainiai District Municipality also participated in the meeting.

During the visit, the parties discussed Lithuania’s potential as a competitive manufacturing and export country, strengthening the investment environment, and key issues related to innovation development important to businesses.

The visit provided an opportunity not only to present the company’s activities but also to discuss what additional support state institutions could provide to businesses and what changes are currently most relevant for companies’ operations and investment processes.

The delegation was introduced to Kormotech's history, key areas of activity, export geography, and future expansion plans in Lithuania. After the presentation, the guests took a tour of the production facility, where they could see all stages of pet food production up close – from raw material preparation to final product packaging.

Currently, more than 200 employees work at Kormotech’s production facility in Lithuania, where around 22,000 tonnes of wet pet food are produced annually and exported to more than 50 countries worldwide.

“Lithuania is strengthening its position as a modern and competitive manufacturing country. International companies such as Kormotech demonstrate that our country is attractive for investment, innovation, and the development of high-value-added products. During the visit, we had the opportunity to see not only the company’s impressive economic results but also its social initiatives – a responsible approach to animal welfare and the positive change it is creating in the culture of pet care,” said Minister Edvinas Grikšas.

“Lithuania is a strategically important market and a reliable partner for us. Our decision to invest here was driven not only by its convenient geographic location and strong industrial infrastructure, but also by the active, professional support of institutions – consultations, assistance throughout the investment process, and constructive dialogue with businesses. This successful cooperation with Invest Lithuania, the Innovation Agency, and the local municipality also influenced our decision to build our second factory here. Kėdainiai has proven that the region offers very favourable conditions for business growth,” said Kormotech Director Andrii Bereziuk.

During the visit, the delegation also discussed the construction progress and plans for Kormotech’s second factory, currently under construction next to the first facility.

The new 19,500-square-metre complex, which will include production, warehousing, and administrative areas, will significantly increase the company’s manufacturing capacity in Lithuania – from 22,000 to 60,000 tonnes of pet food per year. Once the new facility is fully operational, around 61% of Kormotech Group’s total wet pet food production will be concentrated in Kėdainiai.

The project is now in its final stage: installation and commissioning of equipment for the first production line are currently underway. At the same time, the company has launched an active recruitment campaign and has already begun hiring for the new facility.

Further details regarding the official opening of the factory will be announced in due course.
