Through the partnership between Kormotech and the Voices of Children charitable foundation, more than 1,000 children and adults have received psychological and psychosocial support at the foundation’s Lviv center. Since 21 May 2024, Kormotech has contributed more than UAH 5.7 million to support its work.
Kormotech continues its partnership with the Voices of Children charitable foundation by supporting its center in Lviv.
During the partnership between Ukraine’s largest manufacturer of food for cats and dogs and the foundation, more than 1,000 children and their parents have received, or continue to receive, support in various formats.
The specialists at the Lviv center have conducted:
- 1,840 individual psychological sessions for children;
- 988 individual sessions for adults;
- 99 psychological support groups for children and 46 for adults;
- 539 psychosocial support groups for children;
- 77 psychosocial support groups for adults;
- 13 psychosocial support groups for families.
The Voices of Children centers operate as safe and welcoming spaces where children and adults can receive individual counseling and group support, as well as take part in art therapy, sand therapy, and other therapeutic and recovery activities. In Lviv, the foundation’s center is located at 45A Viacheslava Chornovola Street, Building 8.
“For Kormotech, supporting children and families living with the experience of war is a long-term responsibility. It is important for us not only to respond to urgent needs, but also to help create sustainable access to professional psychological support. The results of the Lviv center show how essential this support is and how many families need a safe space where they can be heard and supported,” said Iryna Lozova, Head of Social Projects at Kormotech.
For more than ten years, the Voices of Children charitable foundation has provided comprehensive psychological support to children affected by war. It also supports their families, works with communities and children’s institutions, and advocates for changes that protect children’s rights. The foundation’s goal is to create conditions in which every child is heard, and every child’s rights are protected.
One of the children whose story has become part of this center is Kira, who was eight years old when the full-scale war began. Together with her family, she lived through the occupation of Kherson and traveled through checkpoints to western Ukraine. During her first months in Lviv, the sound of passing cars made her grab her mother’s hand. According to her mother, Kira watched the faces of passers-by closely and remained constantly alert to danger.
“The city welcomed thousands of families like Kira’s. Air raid alerts are less frequent here, but moving to a calmer place does not remove the impact of war. The word ‘safer’ always comes with a qualification. Children and parents face new challenges: adapting to a new environment, finding friends and support, worrying about loved ones who remain closer to the fighting, and processing what they have experienced. Kira said that after attending the sessions, she found it easier to meet and communicate with new people. Our Lviv space exists for children like her. Here, they can take part in creative activities, play board games, and work with specialists in psychological support groups to better understand themselves and their emotions,” said Olena Rozvadovska, Co-founder of the Voices of Children Foundation.
After individual counseling, 94% of parents and 93% of children reported improved psychological well-being. All surveyed beneficiaries said they were satisfied with the support they received and that it had helped improve their life circumstances.
The partnership between Kormotech and the Voices of Children Foundation aims to ensure that children and their families are not left to face the consequences of war alone and can access the professional support they need in a timely manner.
