How Ukrainian businesses turn challenges into strategy: Kormotech’s experience at SUP DAY Forum

On May 21, Promprylad hosted SUP DAY Forum IVANO-FRANKIVSK. The event focused on the resilience of Ukrainian businesses, energy autonomy, marketing solutions, and the experience of companies that continue to grow despite challenges.

Kormotech was represented at the forum by Ihor Paranyak, Chief Operating Officer, and Igor Blystiv, Chief Marketing Officer.

Ihor Paranyak joined the panel discussion “Companies Building Energy Autonomy.” He shared Kormotech’s experience in managing energy risks for large-scale production.

At the start of the full-scale war, the company began developing response scenarios for energy crises and investing in its own generation capacity. Today, Kormotech has solar power generation in Ukraine and Lithuania and is working toward a strategic goal: to cover 20% of its energy needs through its own generation by 2028.

“For a manufacturing company, energy is now part of operational security. Businesses need to assess not only the cost of electricity, but also the cost of production downtime,” said Ihor Paranyak.

During the discussion, participants discussed investments in energy infrastructure, scenario planning, and solutions to help businesses remain stable in times of crisis.

Igor Blystiv moderated the discussion “Marketing, Honestly: How to Turn Failures into Results.” Together with the panelists, he explored mistakes as a tool for growth: how businesses can quickly identify system failures, fix them, and avoid repeating them.

“Mistakes are a path to growth when a team can see exactly where the system failed and fix it. In marketing, the real danger is not the mistake itself, but overconfidence and repeating the same decisions. That is why businesses need to deeply understand their customers, test hypotheses quickly, and scale what truly works,” said Igor Blystiv.

During SUP DAY Forum IVANO-FRANKIVSK, Igor Blystiv also became an ambassador of the Union of Ukrainian Entrepreneurs. This role creates an opportunity to share Kormotech’s experience, support the entrepreneurial community, speak openly about the development of Ukrainian business, and stand among the leaders of change.
