A 27-Minute Consultation Saved a Puppy from Dehydration
Ukrainians are increasingly turning to online veterinary care.
In September 2025 alone, the free 9100 service received over 24,000 inquiries via phone, Telegram, and Viber.
Most requests come in the evening hours (6–10 PM) and on weekends, when most clinics are closed. This confirms that tele-veterinary consultations are becoming a reliable means of obtaining timely help, especially in regions with limited access to clinics.
In one notable case this August, a 27-minute call with a 9100 vet helped save a puppy’s life. After receiving conflicting advice from several clinics, the pet parent contacted 9100. The veterinarian carefully reviewed lab results, clarified treatment steps, and explained how to prevent dehydration. As a result, the pet parent stabilized the puppy’s condition and avoided complications.
“We receive calls around the clock – even at night, people are seeking help for their pets. Often, these are urgent cases, such as poisoning, vomiting, or breathing issues. For many, 9100 is the first line of contact with a veterinarian,” said Denys Tyshchenko, Head of the Ukrainian Guild of Veterinarians.

- Most common issues: digestion, dermatology, poisoning, and nutrition
- 73% of users are women, primarily seeking advice on vaccination and care
- Other species include rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, parrots, foxes, and hedgehogs.
