Ukrainians are traditionally encouraged to spend their workday with their beloved pets. It's also a way to show that even during the full-scale invasion by Russia, Ukrainians continue to support a culture of humane treatment towards their four-pawed companions.
The global pet food market is overgrowing, and there is already a need for more production capacities. This becomes evident when it comes to finding a partner for outsourcing or placing orders for the production of products under their brand names. We are convinced that it is crucial to invest in building brand recognition and expanding production simultaneously.
Despite a year of the war, Kormotech maintains its leadership in the Ukrainian market and produces over a quarter of the pet food sold in Ukraine. In 2022, the pet food market demonstrated a slight decline, but Kormotech continued to grow, even in the face of a declining market. The company's turnover increased by 12%, from $110 million to $124 million yearly. Working in a long-term perspective is key for Kormotech, so the company reinvests its earnings to strengthen its production capacities in Ukraine and the EU.
Zoomark 2023 exhibition is a significant event in the global pet industry, bringing together leading manufacturers, distributors, exporters, and retailers who explore new products, study market trends, and seek partners. The exhibition featured manufacturers from 57 countries, 27,000 buyers from 85 countries, and 1,200 innovative products for pets.
New global trends require rebuilding business processes and optimizing production. One such trend is sustainable consumption. Reducing waste, switching to environmentally friendly materials, and eliminating unnecessary operations help preserve a better world for future generations and represent a considerable resource for increasing efficiency and saving costs.
We use hundreds of types of packaging, raw materials, and several types of fuel. We undergo certification procedures in different markets and deal with complex logistics, exporting our products to 39 countries.
Therefore, we must optimize production costs and improve business processes.
SoftServe, in collaboration with the premium pet food brand CLUB 4 PAWS, has developed a platform for adopting four-pawed animals called LOOK 4 PAWS.
Previously, SoftServe volunteers created websites free of charge for renowned organizations such as Ukraїner, Повернись живим, and others.
At the request of the CLUB 4 PAWS brand, the charitable crowdsourcing platform Open Tech, by SoftServe, developed a new website for the charitable initiative LOOK 4 PAWS.
The previous initiative's website eventually ceased to meet the users' needs and the social media accounts of LOOK 4 PAWS were overloaded. The IT experts from the Open Tech platform worked on the project for a year on a charitable basis, using their free time when not occupied with their primary responsibilities.
On March 14th, the Save Pets Of Ukraine initiative presented the charitable book 'Saving Four-Pawed (and People) in Ukraine'.
The book aims to draw maximum attention to the problem of the increasing number of stray animals during the war.
All funds raised from the book sale will be directed to help shelters for dogs and cats.
